It offers the standard reporting and ETL functionality of many of it's competitors. SAS software is based on a fourth generation programming language which can be traced back to its statistical heritage. The core of the SAS system is known as Base SAS. A large number of additional, separately licenced, components sit on this base to provide further functionality, eg BI Dashboard or SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Server. The latter supports query reporting, OLAP, integrated analytics, visualization and Microsoft Office integration. SAS is a mature and well established company which is ever increasing its product range. It provides further focus for companies by developing industry specific solutions that allow companies to rapidly implement the SAS technology and gather results quickly.
