Panorama Business IntelligencePanorama Business Intelligence software is focused around it's flagship Novaview product. Founded in 1993, Panorama developed the original OLAP technology. It sold this to Microsoft in 1996, in what many considered to be a potential future marriage. Unfortunately this marriage never happened. Panorama continued to gain in strength and in 2008, Microsoft acquired ProClarity corporation, thereby rremoving any possibility of a future tie up with Microsoft. Panorama's flagship product, Novaview, is a product suite which includes analytics, report, dashboard, data visualization and a business modeling application. Panorama has continued to build upon its extensive OLAP expertise and has a a unique selling point as the only pure MDX-based BI solution that works across numerous platforms including: SQL Server Analysis Services, SAP NetWeaver BI, Oracle, Sybase, IBM DB2, HP Neoview, Hyperion Essbase, Teradata, Siebel Analytics and Netezza. Perhaps uniquely for a Business Intelligence reporting solution, Panorama does not require any data extraction or an additional metadata layer. This is significant as it greately reduces potential development time and ongoing maintenance and support of a middle tier as well as allowing companies to leverage their existing investments in BI technology. More recently Panorama has collaborated with Google by embedding a number of its BI applications inside Google Applications. Google is aiming to enter the 'online office' market, and by collaborating with Panorama, it looks like it is going to adding some powerful analytical BU capabillity to it's spreadsheet product. Going forward, Panorama is working on an innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) BI solution designed to help customers build cloud-based data warehouses and OLAP cubes for various analytical needs.
