Oracle CertificationOracle certifications are awarded at three levels:
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
Oracle Certification OverviewOracle Certified Associate (OCA)The Oracle Certified Associate certification is gained by passing the 1Z0-042: Oracle Database 10g: Administration I exam. This exam consists of 84 questions, to be taken in 120 minutes. The pass score is 68%. Note that the pass scores do change frequently as the exams are updated. Check with your test centre for the latest pass mark. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) The Oracle Certified Professional certification is gained by passing the 1Z0-043: Oracle Database 10g: Administration II exam. This exam consists of 90 questions, to be taken in 90 minutes. The pass score is 70%. In addition to the exam, the certification requires the attendance at one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses. A form confirming attendence needs to be completed and verified to enable you to gain the certification. Oracle Certified Master (OCM) The Oracle Certified Master certification is gained by taking exams in the following areas: # Oracle Database 10g Rel. 2 (10.2.0.2) # Oracle Enterprise Manager Rel. 2 (10.2.0.2) # Oracle Database 10g Rel. 2 (10.2.0.1) - For RAC Only These exams are spread over two days and are conducted in a dedicated server lab. For this particular certification, you are notified of a pass or fail in 4-5 weeks. Additionally, the certification requires the attendance at two of the approved instructor-led online or in-class advanced courses. These courses must be different to those taken for the OCP certification. A form confirming attendence needs to be completed and verified to enable you to gain the certification.
Registering and sitting the examsThe Oracle certification exams can be booked via the Prometric Oracle Test Website. There are many Prometric test sites throughtout the world, so there is bound to be one near you. Once you have found a suitable test centre, you select the test you want to take. A list of available dates and times will be presented. Select your preferred date and time and make the payment. You test is then confirmed via email.On they day of the test, you will need to arrive early in order to sign in. After completing the sign in process, and once your identity is verified, you are taken to the test room. Good luck!
